Gone Too Soon: A Reminder to Live Fully

This past week, I was hit with news no one wants to hear. Someone I knew, a young father, passed away unexpectedly.

It’s the kind of loss that rattles your spirit.

He wasn’t old. He wasn’t sick. He wasn’t done.

And yet…..just like that……his journey ended.

His kids will grow up without their dad.

His story, cut short.

And I can’t stop thinking about how easily we forget this truth:

We don’t get to choose how long we’re here. But we do get to choose how we live.

As someone who facilitates breathwork, I’ve seen people process pain, release trauma, and reconnect to life in powerful ways.

But this week reminded me that we’re all still learning and still trying to wake up to how fragile this life is.

This death reminded me of two things:

  1. Presence is everything.

Hug your kids longer. Call your parents. Say what’s on your heart—today.

  2. Purpose is urgent.

Don’t wait to start the thing you’ve been dreaming of. Launch it. Say yes. Risk the leap.

If you’ve been putting off joy, healing, love, or your own transformation——-this is your sign.

Not just because life is short.

But because it’s precious.

And you are here now. That means you still have time to write your next chapter.

Breathe it in. Live it all the way out.

With love and urgency,

Vincenzo Caputo
