You Don’t Need to Have It All Figured Out

I used to think progress meant knowing exactly where I was going.
Having the plan.
Knowing the next move.
Knowing how everything was going to work out.
And if I didn’t know?
I’d overthink the shit out of it.
I’m starting to realize that maybe life doesn’t work that way.
Maybe we’re not supposed to have every answer before we take the next step.
Life has changed a lot for me.
My business looks different than it did a year ago.
My priorities have changed.
The things that once excited me don’t always excite me anymore.
New passions have appeared.
Old ones have come back.
Some relationships have ended.
Others have entered my life and shown me parts of myself I didn’t even know were still there.
And there are still areas of my life that are completely unresolved.
That’s the truth.
I don’t have everything figured out.
Not even close.
But strangely enough…
I’m becoming more okay with that.
We spend so much time trying to control the ending.
We want guarantees.
We want to know the business will work.
The relationship will last.
The money will come.
The house will sell.
The decision we’re making is the right one.
But life doesn’t hand out guarantees.
And maybe the constant need for certainty is exactly what keeps so many of us stuck.
Because while we’re waiting to know exactly how everything is going to work out…
we stop living.
I’m learning to take the next step.
Not the next fifty.
Just the next one.
Do what I can today.
Show up for my kids.
Show up for the people I love.
Show up for my body.
Show up for my business.
Show up for myself.
And then wake up tomorrow and do it again.
Some days I do that really fucking well.
Other days?
Not so much.
But that’s part of the journey too.
Maybe peace isn’t having all the answers.
Maybe peace is trusting yourself enough to know that you’ll handle whatever comes next.
That’s different.
Because I can’t control everything that’s coming.
But I can look back at everything I’ve already survived.
Every heartbreak.
Every failure.
Every uncomfortable season.
Every moment I thought I wouldn’t get through.
And somehow…
I’m still here.
Still growing.
Still learning.
Still becoming.
So if you’re in a season where you don’t know what’s next…
Good.
Maybe you don’t need to.
Maybe your only job right now is to stop trying to solve your entire life in one day.
Take the next step.
Have the conversation.
Make the phone call.
Apply for the job.
Start the business.
Go to the gym.
Book the trip.
Ask for help.
Take the fucking breath.
Whatever your next step is…
Take it.
You can figure out the step after that when you get there.
You don’t need to have your whole life figured out.
Neither do I.
We’re just living the journey.
One day at a time.
Keep breathing.
